Chapter 05
Understanding Offers
An offer is more than a number. Price, deposit, conditions, dates, and terms all shape what an offer really means to you.
What an offer contains
What it means
Price
The amount the buyer offers to pay. It is one term among many and does not by itself determine the strength of an offer.
Discuss any offer component with your real estate professional or lawyer to understand how it applies to your specific situation.
Compare two example offers
A hypothetical comparison to show how terms can differ beyond price. Neither offer is labelled "best."
An offer is more than its price.
Offer A
Offer B
A hypothetical comparison for educational purposes only. Neither offer is labelled “best.” Sellers may consider more than price — including conditions, dates, deposit, terms, certainty, and their own individual objectives. Discuss evaluating and responding to offers with your real estate professional and, where appropriate, a lawyer.
